Water Treatment

Water recycling
Water is treated through various procedures using chemicals to purify water. An algaecide is a chemical which, when added to water, kills algae and blue-green algae. Some examples of common algaecides include copper sulphate, iron and rosin amine salts. A variety of procedures can be applied for the treatment of water. Calcium hydroxide hydrated lime (Ca (OH2), carbon dioxide (CO2), coagulant hydrated aluminum sulphate (alum) Al2(SO4)3, coagulant aid polyelectrolyte, ozone (O3) and sodium hypochlorite (liquid chlorine) NaOCL help achieve optimal pH levels for particle coagulation, maintain residue and disinfecting capacities and alter the chemical properties of water, making it acceptable for end use.
